Load booking for owner-operators

Somebody working the boards while you drive, without signing away control of your own authority.

An owner-operator has two jobs and can only do one at a time. Driving pays. Booking does not, but not booking costs more than anything else on the truck.

The usual result is booking done at the end of a fourteen-hour day, from a phone, tired, taking the first acceptable rate rather than the best available one. The loads that were worth having went at two in the morning to somebody who was awake.

We do the booking while you drive. What we do not do is take over your authority, your relationships or your ability to walk away.

What is included

  • Load sourcing across the boards and direct broker contacts
  • Rate negotiation against a floor you set
  • Rate confirmation review before you commit
  • Appointment booking and receiver confirmation
  • Broker check calls so you are not doing them from the cab
  • Detention and accessorial documentation as it happens
  • Paperwork chased so your invoice goes out the same week

The reload is the whole job

The difference between a good week and an average one is rarely the headline rate on the outbound load. It is whether there was a reload waiting at the other end, and how many empty miles sat between the two.

Working a reload properly means starting before the outbound delivers, knowing what is posting in that area, and being willing to hold for two hours rather than take the first cheap thing out. That is difficult to do from a driver's seat and straightforward to do from a desk.

What we do not do

We do not ask for exclusivity. If you book your own loads, you owe us nothing on them.

We do not put our contact details on your broker setup packets. Your name, your number, an email on your domain.

We do not hold your credentials. You keep the load board account and we work as a named user on it.

And we do not lock you into a long term. If the arrangement is not earning its cost, you should be able to stop it without a fight, which is how it is written.

Who this suits

One truck to five. Operators who have their own authority and want to keep it. Drivers who are good at the driving and honest about not wanting to spend their evenings on a load board. It suits new authority operators less well in the first months, because there is setup work to do first, which we cover under new authority support.

Common questions

Questions we get asked

Do you take a percentage?

Owner-operator booking is usually priced per truck rather than as a percentage, but the structure can flex. What stays constant is that it costs a fraction of what the same hours would cost you locally. Tell us your lanes and we will quote it.

Am I locked into a contract?

No long lock-in. The arrangement should earn its keep every month, and if it does not you should be able to end it with short notice and take everything with you.

Whose name goes on the broker packets?

Yours. Company name, your phone number, an email address on your domain. If you leave us, the brokers still have you rather than us.

Can you book loads overnight?

Yes, and that is usually where the value is. North American nights are our working day, which is when a lot of good westbound freight gets posted and covered.

Tell us what is falling through the cracks

A short call is enough to work out whether a dedicated seat, a shared seat or a single service is the right shape. No commitment, no pressure, and we will say so if we are not the right fit.
